What is Othello without Iago? A public scandal: The youngest Desdemona, the single heir of the most richest man in Venecia, runs away with the Black Corsair (Othello) who the Serenism Republic has hired to safeguard Chipre from the Turkish Attack.
Nowadays Othello would be sent to prison by force, but Venice needs him and that’s final. However, background, it happens something that lights the fuse: Othelo, Brand-new governor of Chipre, chooses Cassio as lieutentant, a young man of high class, friend of Desdemona… without thinking in Iago, who has been fighting next to him in all the raids that made Othello became famous. Luckily for the tragedy, Iago undertakes an artistic revenge that corresponds to the ofense.
In this unipersonal show, directed by María Ruiz and starring Eleazar Ortiz, Iago has eventually the ocassion to have all the stage for him, and can uncover that him is the main character of Shakespeare’s Othello.
