Hamlet Vending Machine is an interactive instalation, based and inspired on Heiner Müller´s post-dramatic theatre.
The multifaceted artist Alex Peña has created a vending machine of digital memories (pen drives) that hosts a variety of sound pieces inspired on Henri Muller´s open version of Hamlet. Prince of Denmark by William Shakespeare.
The texts are vocalized by the IOS voices “SIRI” and the music played by Yunke Junk Preachers, (Pablo Peña -Pony Bravo, Música Pre-Post, Rinozheros-, Darío del Moral -Pony Bravo, Niño de Elche- and Dj Perla)
Using the Vending Machine, spectators will be able to acquire the original music track in digital format through a pendrive. Through the machine, the user can listen to a preview of the songs with headphones to enjoy the track in situ for free before purchasing. This performance maintains the original spirit of Müller breaking apart the production while crafting an interactive activity for its consumers.
Alex Peña will explain how the machine works at the premiere of the 18th edition of Clasicos in Alcalá Festival. The instalation will be open to the public until the 8th of July at the Hall of Cervantes Theatre.
