One year period and one labour for each month. These are the terms that Nise, a lady so famous in Seville for her verses as for her beauty, demands from anyone who wants to get her hand in marriage. Only Octavio, a resolute and obstinate young man, has managed to arrive without flaw until the last month and he only has to succeed in the final task: he must demonstrate his skill with the pen in one of the literary academies that, to the astonishment of some and the envy of many, Nise usually presides over.

But neither Octavio nor she imagine that the past of both, embodied in two of their best friends, will break into that academy, where it will be difficult to distinguish the limits between the literary and the real. The presence of Don Manuel, who keeps more than one secret about Don Octavio, and the unexpected arrival of Doña Beatriz seeking for shelter after having been involved in a dark crime, will force them to share space, stories and suspicions until they turn what should have been a chaste poetic contest into a sensual and mysterious encounter.
