“The Unseen Tirso” is a scenic musical game based on ballads, praises, “jácaras” (musics and dances that go with the stories), interludes, pantomimes... A group of five actors plays around “Love the Doctor” by Tirso de Molina, a work never represented on stage... never seen before. From the honesty of the clownish, the rigor of the ritual and with a musical spirit, we will try to transmute the magic of the book to the stage of the theatre.
“Love the Doctor” has the nature of its protagonist, Mrs. Jerónima, a woman who in the 16th century wants to follow in the footsteps of "La Latina", study medicine and not follow the matchmaking passions of the women of her time. As she says: "Women must always be without passing the narrow stripe of the pillow, can celebrate in Seville some woman who takes advantage of the sciences” … "Marriage is Algiers and the woman is captive in it".
"The Unseen Tirso" is therefore also a journey where we see the adventures of many women to be able to follow their vocations and break the barriers of a society that confined them, at best, to the care of the offspring and the home.
